the experience

WSS, MT

The small ranching community of White Sulphur Springs is surrounded by mountains. The Castles rise to the east of town, the Big Belts to the west, while the Little Belt Mountains lie just to the north. Home to the Smith River valley, WSS has long been recognized for it’s tremendous number of trout fisheries. Bar Z sits nestled in this beautiful valley and affords our guests private access to over 45 miles of water, all within a 30 mile radius of our lodge. We also maintain exclusive access to water on several area ranches which can be accessed for an additional rod fee.

walk - wade

We’re unique, and so is our fishing. With exclusive access to more than 45 miles of private water you won’t find many lodges that offer a similar walk-wade experience. One day you’ll be catching wild rainbows & cutthroats from a free stone, pocket water creek at the base of a dramatic canyon. The next day you’ll be stalking brown trout from the bank of an ox-bowed stream. The only time you’ll find yourself in a drift boat is when you’re gliding across our spring-fed 10 acre lake, sight casting for big browns and beautiful rainbows.
